Incredibly Busy!
Posted on 14. Oct, 2006 by Jan Polet in Uncategorized
So much has happened over the last weeks (and is still happening by the way) which made it absolutely impossible to do anything that has to do with podcasting. Sorry about that. Ã hope to release a new podcast somewhere next week. All I have to do is find some good music and figure out what to say!
Talk to you soon!

Work In Progress!
Posted on 15. Mar, 2006 by Jan Polet in Uncategorized
A lot of things are still going on in my new home. Today new equipment was placed in the bathroom. Tomorrow workers will start replacing the window-frames, which is gonna take about four days. So, the next week or so it’ll be quite messy. After that, hopefully the curtains will be ready and the projector and GrandMasterView screen will arrive, so I can finally get some work done, using these new visual aids.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words!

People may say they’ll do a certain thing or whatever. Hell, they may even have the right intentions. In the end actions speak louder than words.

namffidi.dll

Anybody ever heard of nimffidi.dll?
Found is in the registry together with inprocserver32.
After renaming it and restarting the server, the problem was solved.
None of my virus/spyware scanners picked it up.
Must have been a weird combination of an unknown infection and a strange reason to reboot.
Anyway, the server is up again!!
All Packed!

Well, just a few more busy days before I’ll be off to NYC. ![]()
On Monday I’ll be at the Veronica Radioschool in Hilversum.
Later that day I’ll go to Apeldoorn to finish the last week of my rehabilitation program. I’ll have to say goodbye to some people I shared a lot with in the past four months, which will probably be awkward since some of them have become friends.
Then on Friday I’ll go to Haarlem to meet up with my travelling companion.
We’ll be spending the night there and leave for the Amsterdam airport the next morning.
I still have to burn a few audio CD’s, ’cause I never take originals with me on holiday, but other than that, I’m all packed. ![]()
So New York City, here I come!.

Hard Drive Crash
Posted on 02. Sep, 2005 by Jan Polet in Uncategorized
The data disk in my current and soon te be old server crashed a few days ago.
Because I’m staying in Apeldoorn during the week I couldn’t do anything about it until now.
The only thing I’m getting is a “Start unit failed” message, so it crashed alright.
I have backups of Almost all data, but I did loose a few days of e-mail, ’cause the storage dir of my mail server program was on that disk.
My new server has RAID1, but everything that lead up to my 18 weeks stay at Apeldoorn got in the way of installing it. Bummer ![]()
It’s the first time in the 20 years that I’ve worked with computers that I’ve lost data .
But lesson learned! MAKE BACKUPS AND USE REDUNDANCY.
