After ten years of marriage, my wife and I have decided to go our separate ways.
It’s gonna be an emotional and busy time, ’cause many thing have to be taken care of.
We both want it to be on good terms. I really hope that’s possible.
Earlier on I wrote that I couldn’t talk about all the things that were going on. Well, this was one of them.
Things I Bought In NYC

While in NYC, I bought some things. It’s hard not to.
Finally, after all this time podcasting, I bought an MP3 player.
I’m now the proud owner of an iRiver iFP-899.
I also bought a lav mic to go with it. It’s an Audio-Technica ATR35s.
Unfortunately the iRiver only records the left channel when using this mic. 
What I also bought, is a book.
It’s titled “Relocating to New York City and Surrounding Areas“.
Never know whem it comes in handy. 
Maybe I should have bought “Relocating to Hilversum” as well. Couldn’t find it though.
Back Home!

I just arrived home safely.
I didn’t record any Hit Tests in NYC. Been to busy.
Wasn’t able to do one on the flight home either. It was a night flight and I didn’t sleep at all because of a few selfish and ignorant passengers.
Anyway NYC was great!
Now I have some unpacking to do.

Hey there,
My feet hurt and I’m not getting enough sleep, but that’s only the result of me having a great time in the world’s greatest city.
Still no Wi-Fi in the room though. Computer equipment and hotel personnel don’t always go together.
No time to create new pics for the site. Too much to do in a short time.

Well, we’re in the Big Apple!
From the room on the 33rd floor I can see the Empire State Building AND the Chrysler Building, so it realy is a room with a view!
Wi-Fi is free, but unfortunately it’s not working in several parts on the hotel, including the room, so I’m now sitting in the general hall, with the elevators., on a higher floor to be able to post this message.
There’s no jet;ag at all, what’s realy amazing.
The city is great and the weather is perfect.
What more can you ask for!
I know something!….Working W-Fi!
I hope to be able to check back later, so stay tuned!
Finished Rehab!

Well, I’m done! I Finished the rehabilitation program.
Today was the last day in Apeldoorn.
There is some paperwork left, but that will have to wait until I’m back from New York City!
I’ve learned a lot the past four months and now it’s time to put it to good use.
Right now I’m in Haarlem and I’ll be spending the night here.
Tomorrow we’ll leave for the airport. I can here the planes already.
Can’t wait to go.

Well, just a few more busy days before I’ll be off to NYC.
On Monday I’ll be at the Veronica Radioschool in Hilversum.
Later that day I’ll go to Apeldoorn to finish the last week of my rehabilitation program. I’ll have to say goodbye to some people I shared a lot with in the past four months, which will probably be awkward since some of them have become friends.
Then on Friday I’ll go to Haarlem to meet up with my travelling companion.
We’ll be spending the night there and leave for the Amsterdam airport the next morning.
I still have to burn a few audio CD’s, ’cause I never take originals with me on holiday, but other than that, I’m all packed.
So New York City, here I come!.
Hard Drive Crash

The data disk in my current and soon te be old server crashed a few days ago.
Because I’m staying in Apeldoorn during the week I couldn’t do anything about it until now.
The only thing I’m getting is a “Start unit failed” message, so it crashed alright.
I have backups of Almost all data, but I did loose a few days of e-mail, ’cause the storage dir of my mail server program was on that disk.
My new server has RAID1, but everything that lead up to my 18 weeks stay at Apeldoorn got in the way of installing it. Bummer
It’s the first time in the 20 years that I’ve worked with computers that I’ve lost data .
But lesson learned! MAKE BACKUPS AND USE REDUNDANCY.
