Site Problems!

Because I’m still having database problems with this site, I changed the way you can leave comments. From now on, at least for a test period, you have to login to WordPress to leave a comment. In order to login, you first have to register. Hope this helps.

Been Really Busy!

Wow! Time flies! Miss me?
So many things have happened that I don’t even know where to begin, so I’m not even gonna try.

My Website Is Driving Me Crazy!

Posted on 01. Sep, 2006 by Jan Polet in News/Info

Many things seem to be going wrong with this website.

  • the RSS feed generated by WordPress is not being recognized by iTunes anymore, resulting in an error stating that it’s not a valid podcast url
  • the MySQL database keeps locking up because users are somehow not logged out
  • editing one specific page kept causing a script error and finally resluted in the loss of the page
  • restoring a backup results in questionmarks being placed in several posts, causing errors in the RSS feed

WordPress, the plugins, PHP and MySQL have all been updated, but didn’t bring a solution.

What the hell is going on?

Does anybody know anything that can help me solve these problems?

UPDATE:

I’ve spent a lot of time deleting all the questionmarks that somehow appeared in a lot of posts. The RSS feed should now be working in iTunes. I say “should” ’cause I keep getting an error in iTunes on my server. Om my notebook and on one of my workstations, iTunes works fine. Very weird. What’s also very weird is that with IE on my server (Windows Server 2003) I get the following error when I try to access my feed’s URL: “The XML page cannot be displayed. Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. The following tags were not closed: rss, channel. Error processing resource ‘http://www.hittestproductions.com/hittest/dircaster.php’.” With Firefox however, the page displays just fine.
