Hectic Times!

Hey everybody,
Due to hectic times (again) I haven’t had the time to produce a Hit Test Podcast. I have been working on a Hit Test for the DSC, but didn’t get an opportunity to record it yet.
Much has been going on and there’ve been many developments, which I hope to be able to talk about soon. So, in the meantime, stay tuned and let me know what you think by sending mail to hittest(at)gmail.com
To be continued…
I’m Pissed!! Software Ideas And GUI Stolen!!
Posted on 03. May, 2007 by Jan Polet in News/Info
A long time ago, I came op with an Idea for some software.
Together with Richard, a good friend of mine, I documented a lot of stuff about the features and funtionality.
In July 2005 another friend, Brad, a programmer. came aboard and started to create code. At that point Richard started work on the GUI. We called it pPodder, a name Brad came up with and still owns.
Unfortunately, a few months later Brad had to drop out and the project came to a halt.
About a year ago we found a new programmer, Mike. It was so good to see my idea come to life and to play with more and more parts of the program that were actually working.
A few months later Richard ran out of time to put into the project and gave me all the parts of the GUI, so I could continue working on it.
For a while everything was more or less fine. Unfortunately programmers tend to be difficult people and hard to work with. Exactly one month ago Mike and I decided to stop working together.
We agreed not to use the name JamiriX, the name we had given the software and that stands for JA = Jan, MI = Mike, RI = Richard and an X.
Everyting but the source code was mine anyway.
One day after we stopped working together http://www.studiorack.com/ was launched. Because Mike’s knowledge of audio and studio equipment is very limited, he’s looking for people to replace Richard and me as developer and designer. He clearly needs others to finish my work.
He’s even showing my work to others, stating he’s not allowed to use it and to base new designs on it. Every little detail has been stolen by someone who didn’t bring any idea to the table himself. He was and is just a good programmer.
Mike broke our agreement and as you can imagine I’m pissed.
Let me know what you think about all this. Better yet, let Mike know as well.
So if you see anything like this appearing, created by Mike, with exactly the same features but with another design, you know who’s ideas it’s all based on.
